Sherman Adkins is the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of RCG Behavioral Health Network, where he leads with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for at-risk and special needs youth and their families. His passion for behavioral health began more than 20 years ago through volunteer work with the Virginia Department of Social Services—an experience that reshaped his professional path and clarified his purpose.
In 2005, Sherman co-founded EMS Ventures, a mental health organization serving children and adults. While scaling EMS, he became acutely aware of the significant gaps in quality, accessible programming for individuals on the autism spectrum across Central Virginia. That insight led to the founding of RCG in 2012.
Since its inception, RCG has been guided by a clear mission: to deliver exceptional, evidence-based services to clients and families; to cultivate excellence and well-being among team members; to act as a catalyst for positive change and growth; and to remain deeply invested in the communities it serves. Under Sherman’s leadership, RCG has grown into a trusted behavioral health organization known for clinical quality, strong culture, and sustainable impact.
Sherman holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University and brings a rare blend of financial acumen, operational expertise, and mission-driven leadership to the behavioral health field. He is an active member of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce and the International Franchise Association (IFA).
Outside of his professional work, Sherman enjoys reading, studying history, and spending quality time with his wife and their two daughters.
